The hotel OTTO successfully established itself on the Berlin market since 2006. The focus are the people with their individual wishes, needs and concerns. General satisfaction requires not only sensitivity and tact, but also a consistent approach and a nice ambience. All this is part of the OTTO experience for guests as well as for the staff. The location of the OTTO is central and yet quiet in the beautiful and diverse district of Charlottenburg.

THE OTTO STORY

Created by the fascination and love of Berlin. The hotel OTTO has a moving past, present and future. The passion and vitality are tangible and also reflected in the design of the house.

The story begins in 1936 when the Summer Olympics determined the then 15 year old Otto to come to Berlin. He took his bike and drove from Karlsruhe to the exciting metropolis. He kept faithfully returning to Berlin as a young soldier, during the years of the “Wirtschaftswunder” and up until his old age. His fascination was passed on to the next generation. Alexander, his youngest son and his wife Rita got to know and love the city through him. After Otto’s passing they pursued the idea of operating a privately owned hotel, so they acquired the old hotel Westerland.

This is how the hotel OTTO came to life, a place where “strangers become guests”, a place in the middle of the big and lively city to come by, stay a while and return over and over again. Our philosophy is simple: genuine and honest hospitality, focused on people with all their individual wishes and needs.

The whole Otto concept was developed by the famous Swiss creative consultants Kessler + Kessler. Stylish Arper chairs and tables, bright cream tones paired with striking anthracite and fuchsia convey our breakfast lounge “Etage07” an air of urban chic.

In addition to the brand CI, Franziska and Daniel Kessler also developed the design concept for the newly renovated rooms: maximum comfort complemented by contemporary design. The fabrics of the stylish Arper chairs are part of the series “Small dots” by Charles and Ray Eames. Various Tolomeo lamps provide mood lighting in the rooms. From the desk lamp, through the reading lamp over the bed up to the movable floor lamp, everything comes from the design series by Artemide. All fabrics are from Kvadrat, a leading manufacturer of design textiles. Technical features such as flat-screen TVs in all rooms and free WiFi throughout the house complete the offer.
